The South India Regional Championship round 1 of F1 in Schools was recently held in Euro Schools North Campus Bangalore where five teams qualified to compete for the STEM Challenge on the National level.
It was quite a hustle on the morning of January 18, 2020, as the campus of Euro School North campus, Bangalore was gearing up for the F1 in Schools™ South India Regional Championship Round 1. More than 125 students from top schools across Bangalore and Hyderabad were present in groups to compete for the National Finals of the world’s largest STEM challenge.
The round started with students setting their pit booths to showcase their designed models enthralling the audience with their zeal and passion for automobile technology. Parents and teachers were amazed to see the maturity and dedication shown by the students towards their work.
“ We are glad to see the zeal and proficiency with which the students are performing. We are glad to have played the host, to this amazing, passion-driven competition and hope every child gets the opportunity to experience the thrill of a competition like F1 in Schools™,”
said Dr. Vandana Gupte, the Principal of Euro School North Campus, Bangalore.
The competition was judged by a panel of experts in different fields related to education and technology. It was tough for the judges to make a decision as each and every participant reflected their passion for this field.
“ It is important that students get a chance to showcase their skills than just following the set pattern of exams and curriculum. F1 in Schools™ is a wonderful platform for students to come and put together their passion unitedly on a global level and I can totally see the zeal in all the participants here. This is what education really looks like,”
said Dhanvita Sathyanand, the co-founder of Zedua who was on the panel of judges for the competition.
The competition came to a glorious end as Team Luminosity from DPS Bangalore East bagged the title as F1 in Schools™ South India Regional Champions.
Along with the champions, a total of 5 teams qualified from DPS Bangalore East, Euroschool North Campus, and Euroschool Hyderabad to compete in the National Finals of Season 3 in NCR this April. The national championship will see a total of 75 teams battle for the title. The national champions will further represent India in the F1 in Schools™ World Finals in 2020.

This impact is proven by the exponentially increasing number of Schools joining in with every passing day. ”
stated Mr. Manish Rai, Director, Time of Sports while praising the students who had participated in round 1.
The second round of the F1 in Schools™ South India Regional Championship will be held on March 8, 2020, at Inventure Academy, Bangalore where 35 teams from schools from Bangalore and Hyderabad will compete for the National Finals.
